Enid Bennett (1893-1969) was an Australian-born actress

 who was a well-regarded stage actress there. She left Australia to conquer Broadway, but after finding a hard time breaking in to New York Theatre, she headed to Hollywood where she appeared in 52 films (mostly silent). Her career waned as the Sound age began and she eventually retired to Malibu. She died in 1969 of a heart attack at 76 years of age.
