Loretta Young (1913-2000) was an American actress

born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had a long film career, beginning in 1917 and rolling through 1953, and she later embraced television and had her own successful TV show. She is a winner of one Academy Award (in 1947 for The Farmer's Daughter) and also had a second nomination (1949's Come To The Stable).

Young died of ovarian cancer in 2000 at the age of 87.
